ABOUT
Joey Saylor is a professional drummer from Bayonne, NJ, and has been playing drums since he was 11 years old. He currently plays with his original jazz fusion band "JAAK," NY-based group "The Dave Rud Quartet," and Bayonne-based blues band "The Reptiles." Joey is also a substitute drummer for the Bottle Hill Big Band and the Marty Hoff Big Band. On the side, Joey plays with small acts like freelance jazz combos. Joey teaches private drum lessons at Piero's School of Music in Bayonne. Joey studied Music Business and Jazz Drums at NJCU, receiving instruction from professional drummer Tim Horner and playing with ensembles including the NJCU Jazz Orchestra, Pop/R&B Ensemble, Latin Big Band, Nathan Eklund Jazz Combo, and Sofia Tosello Vocal Jazz Combo. In his spare time, Joey attends local jam sessions around the area at venues like the Brightside Tavern and Moore's Lounge.
